We are two active senior couples exploring northern Italy. Sally's apt was perfect for us. The proximity to town was great and the piazza was perfect. We loved the fresh brioche each morning and the activities from the bar each evening. The food options were great and the walk to Bellagio kept us fit. Sally's apt was so homey and comfortable, we loved our stay. Sally thought of everything we might need and responded quickly to all our questions. We have already recommended her place to friends.

My wife and I have never had a better airbnb experience than at Sally's Bellagio residence. It is in the wonderful hamlet of Visgnola, which was easy to get to with her help from her taxi friend Marco as we departed the ferry to Ballagio from the Varenna train station. I would recommend the taxi to Visgnola on a first arrival. Upon arrival, we have never felt more welcomed as guests. Sally's home is indeed a home and has everything a visitor needs to live there. Everything you have at home Sally provides. But there is more. The people in Visgnola are awesome. We have never seen such friendly, helpful and trusting people. The local bar gave us glasses to drink their beer in, the local market, which had wonderful owners, gave some food away when we forgot an item. or two. We know now why Sally lives there. We may be looking for property there soon. And as for Sally-she is a fantastic host. She will assist you with any logistics you have. We would have loved to meet her, Maybe next time. Because when we come back to Bellagio with daughter and granddaughter, we hope there Sally has room for us..

"My husband and I stayed in Lake Como over Easter weekend 2013 and had the most lovely time. The flat itself is very comfortable and clean, and was very warm for the unseasonable cold weekend. The location is great as well, as it's a bit out of town (but still walking distance) but still has a shop, bar, pizzerias (2) and most importantly, the best bakery! We had a great time, and would recommend this place in a second - in fact, we're already trying to schedule when we're able to go back!"

This apartment was even more wonderful than I expected! Literally, all you have to bring are your clothes and camera. Wonderfully appointed with everything you would need. It truly is a home away from home. The wine on arrival is a great touch and we all felt so comfortable there. Sally was very helpful and patient with us as we had forgoten to bring all out instructions and her neighbors came out to help us as well which was above ane beyond. I can't recommend enough how lovely this home and surrounding area is and am thrilled we were able to stay.

We had a wonderful stay for 2 weeks in Sally's apartment. It truly was a home from home! There was everything we needed, plus much more. We especially enjoyed reading all the books, pamphlets, tourist information, etc , on Lake Como, Bellagio and Italy in general. Very helpful and enjoyable. The apartment was exceptionally clean, too, spotless! We really enjoyed being in the little hamlet of Visgnola, too. Gave a real taste of real Italian life. It would be most convenient to have a car when staying here, but we managed with the few daily buses, walking and a kind friend of Sally's who helped out with transport occasionally. We found that getting to the apartment would probably be easier if catching a train from Milan to Lecco (rather than Como) then the bus to Bellagio leaves from the station and stops at Visgnola. Even though arriving on the ferry is impressive, of course! We had less buses and ferries than normal because we stayed at the end of the main holiday season. But it was all beautiful and Sally was so helpful with anything we needed or asked. Wonderful place, wonderful host.

A really really lovely apartment just outside Bellagio which has a very homely feel. Nicely laid out it is plenty big enough for three adults with a good sized rooms and has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The apartment is well placed for walking, be that easy street walking round and down to Bellagio or more serious walking up the mountains behind Bellagio. Be warned the walking guide times on the signs can be a little optimistic. There is a small shop which is round the corner and a couple of slightly larger supermarkets are all within walking distance along with some nice local restuarants a few minutes walk away. Bellagio town centre is a 20 minutes comfortable walk, again with some nice restaurants some of which have lovely views onto the lake. This was my first time to Italy and it was a great place to experience Italy first time around. We could have easily spent a week at this apartment and would highly recommend the flat, and Sally, to others. Thank you.
Mark D, England,

Great Apartment, well appointed with every thing one could need and more. Host was friendly, helpful and went out of her way to give us appropriate information on every thing from how to get there using public transport to were to dine.

We had a great stay at Sally's apartment in Visgnola and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake Como area. The apartment was cozy and felt just like home. It was great having all of the amenities of the kitchen. There's a small but very convenient market just a couple minutes walk away. We loved picking up some ingredients there and coming back to the apartment to make dinner and eat on Sally's cute balcony overlooking the village piazza. Sally has left a lot of great information about the area in the apartment which made getting around easier. Overall, it was a great experience. Thanks!
Karlee, Belgium

Sally's apartment is truly feels like home away from home. It is spacious and cosy, with all the convenient things like a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi and printer. Also, the instructions Sally left was one of most thorough I have ever experienced, helping to quickly get you up to speed with the apartment, village and the sightseeing opportunities in the area. We will highly recommend Sally's apartment.
Monene, South Africa,

We had a wonderful time staying at Sally's apartment near Bellagio. It had a nice little balcony with a lovely view to the mountains. Breakfast consisted of yummy pastries from the pasticceria located in the small piazza below. The rooms were nice, cozy & homely. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals. There is a small grocery called Art Market just a few meters from the apartment. We were able to park for free around the corner. There were amazing villas and gardens nearby which we visited. And the center of Bellagio is so picturesque... we had to go there every day. Sally left us a bottle of wine in the fridge which was a nice gesture. We really enjoyed our stay at her place and we definitely recommend it.

Sally's apartment was wonderful! We loved the fact that the apartment was so fresh and bright, had plenty of space and that it was located within an area that is authentically local! The apartment is very well set up with modern clean finishes throughout. The neighborhood is residential with a restaurant/bar and pastry place just outside the door and down the stairs. We felt like it was a true representation of Italian life as we would listen to the telltale buzz of scooters and watch life in the piazza below, just what we wanted to experience. Sally's friend Sandra, a Bellagio local, was absolutely brilliant,(for the price of a bit of gas money Sandra picked us up at the ferry terminal upon our arrival to deliver us to the apartment, drove us through the town for a little tour, and then picked us up to go to the ferry for our departure-the apartment is about five minutes drive up from the town and about 20 minutes up by walking, which we also enjoyed during our stay..). Sandra had many ideas and took a lot of her personal time to give us directions to various things. She also acted as translator to figure out a bit more about the ferry rides in the area. She is such a sweet gentle person and we really loved that she was available for the taxi rides. I want to thank Sally and Sandra for a lovely stay, and would recommend this apartment to anyone. I would recommend the ride when you have luggage, but without luggage just walk into town-and when you have finished a day of exploring and want to make the trek home just grab a gelato and enjoy a pleasant walk home. We never had a chance to try the bus. Thanks again, from DeeDee and Naomi, Canada

Sally's apartment is a wonderful place and we are so glad to make the decision to have it as our base around bellagio. The space, the full amenities, the special touches made it such a wonderful experience. The cake shop just down the square makes fabulous pastries! The neighbors around are so helpful as we were a little lost when we got there. Sally has been so helpful with my enquiries and questions. Had a taste of Italian village life!

Absolutely wonderful place! Sally is a superb hostess, the apartment is all set up with every amenity. We loved the area and the people, and wished we could have stayed longer than two nights. Can't believe how good the food is, and how inexpensive the wine! Thank you so much, Sally!
Betsy, Maryland

OK, it's 5 minutes to Bellagio if you have a car, or maybe 10 on the local bus, but do yourself a favour and WALK - it's beautiful, and if you take your time it might take you all of 20-25 minutes! Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Sally, but we spoke on the phone and she has been nothing but helpful before, during and after my stay. Her apartment is lovely, very homely and welcoming (and a welcome bottle of wine is a fabulous touch!) and I ended up extending my stay by several days.
Amanda, Australia

We stayed in Sally's apartment for four nights, it was the perfect base to explore Bellagio and surrounding towns. It is just as described, homely and well equipped, with everything from good wireless internet to a hair dryer to home grown olive oil! Bed was very comfortable and the shower is great. We loved being on the square and watching the comings and goings of the neighbourhood. We really enjoyed walking down into town every day, it's a beautiful route. Sally was also a great help with answering all my questions, we didn't hire a car and she called the station to check times to advise us how best to get to her apartment. If you want a few days on Lake Como but outside of the tourist strip in a very comfortable apartment with beautiful views, this place is for you.
Rosanne, South Africa

Sally's apartment is beautiful and ideally located for exploring Bellagio and the lake. The apartment is huge with a fantastic kitchen. Sally was a great host and made everything very easy, so nice we had to extend our stay. Don't miss the brioche from the patisserie opposite the apartment. There is also a great hike up the mountain to monte San primo, which offers jaw dropping 360' views of lake como and the surrounding mountains, truly beautiful.

Sally's apartment is just about perfect. As she does stay there on occasion, it's chock-a-block with just about everything that anyone could want for their own home. Satellite TV, WIFI, washing machine cum dryer, well-stocked kitchen...everything. We hit bad weather on our stay in Lake Como and the apartment was cold, unfortunately. But this of course was beyond anyone's control. However there were many blankets in the house and we did get comfy. Lovely little hamlet that the apartment is located in. With the local drinking hole cum eating spot, tabacchi and bakery all of 25 meters away, it's well-placed. Sally was great help. Due to some miscommunication, we ended up missing our bus out on the last morning, it being a public holiday and all. Sally was fantastic, assisting us by getting a friend to pick us up in a car and driving us down to Bellagio to catch a ferry across to Varenna. Above and beyond the call of duty. We did manage to catch a later train and ended up in our destination 2-1/2 hours late but we did make it. The only thing, the last bus from Bellagio to the bus stop outside the hamlet departs around 1800 hrs. So if you are planning a late dinner somewhere else, then you would really need to have your own wheels else you'd be very constrained by the bus schedule which is regular but infrequent. It's not exactly a long walk from the hamlet to Bellagio and back but it was pretty bad weather whilst we were there so it wasn't a very pleasant experience. Thanks Sally! You were marvellous!
Adrian, Singapore

I had a great stay in Sally's apartment. It is located in a small town not far from Bellagio, about 5 min by bus or 20-30 by foot. The bus stop nearby. The apartment is very big (3 rooms, kitchen, balkony with a nice view) and comfortable. I really liked this place. Sally was very friendly and helpful. Thank you, Sally, for your supporting during my trip! )) Would recommend the apartment to everyone.
Anastasia, St Petersburg

Stayed at Casa Bellagina for two weeks but it wasn't long enough, Sally's place is amazing the cake shop has the most wonderful cakes and the bar Il Tiglio has food nights which most of the locals attend.
The Bellavista restaurant at the end of the road is a must the Pizza's are fantastic.
Bellagio is lovely and you can walk around all day.
The Carillon restaurant just by the bus stop is also a good place to go, coffe ice cream and pizza the staff are very helpful.
Top tip don't buy ice cream from the shop that has the Hotel attached to it, the bank is on one side and the picture shop on the other it is too expensive and small portions.
If you follow the end of the strip and go up steps - the frozen yogurt shop will be on your left go to the top of the steps then turn left and there is an ice cream shop at the top that is the best place for ice cream.
If you go to the lake you need shoes to swim in, its cheeper than going to the sporting club which is also nice if you want the security for your children when they swim.
We had a car to get from the airport to sally's but didn't use it much, if you like walking then this place is for you, if not hire a car.
I liked the walk so it was fine, i lived in my flipflops but if you cant, take a comfortable pair of walking shoes as you will need them. You discover the quick ways after you have gone the long way.
Would defenately stay again, thank you Sally for being so hospitable.
Nina, Carlisle

What a wonderful apartment, just like being at home, it's as if Sally has stepped out of her home to let us come in. The village is a delight with the locals always welcoming with a "buongiorno" as you pass by, unlike some busier tourist towns. But Bellagio is only a short distance away if you want.
And to finish the view of the mountains from the apartment balcony is magnificent!
Thanks Sally for a great stay. Dina, Australia

Absolutely fabulous. The apartment was just perfect with many an hour spent chilling out on the balcony. We enjoyed going to the local cake shop and eating at the local restaurants as well as walking the lovely cobble stone nework of paths linking the whole of Bellagio. We swam in the lake and enjoyed ferry trips to Varenna and Menaggio. I found the driving on tight roads around the lake a little nerve racking at times so would recommend full insurance on your hire car if you have one.

We took our two children (7 and 11) to give them a taste of the real Italy and they certainly got that! We had a truly wonderful holiday - perfect location and perfect apartment, the best equipped place we have ever stayed in. The rooms were all light and airy and the daily soap opera in the piazza below was a real joy. We managed without a car and used trains, buses and walked down to the town most days, sometimes catching a ferry across the lake and even going up a cable car. Certainly the most beautiful place we have ever visited and we personally cannot recommend this place highly enough, a real gem. The children loved swimming in the lake and sports club pool nearby, buying pastries from the little bakery, sitting on the balcony and eating pizza or pasta every day! We would definitely love to come to Bellissimo Bellagio again!

I have just spent a really lovely week at Sally's apartment in Bellagio, where everything is just perfect. A gorgeous spotlessly clean apartment that has to be the best equiped place you could hope for. Sally has thought of everything and it's a real home from home. Bellagio is so beautiful a week wasn't long enough and I hope to return one day. We never had a car but walking to and from Bellagio only took 20 minutes and it's such a pretty walk. The little patisserie next to the apartment sold the most delicious cakes and pastries anyone could wish for. I'd highly recommend Sally's apartment to everyone. Thank you Sally x
Helen, Doncaster,

We loved Sally's place. We travelled through France and Switzerland and then to Bellagio. Sally's apartment was the best accommadation we had during our trip. Being in the middle of the village gave us a real taste of Italian day to day life. The apartment was very comfortable and felt like home. We wished we could have stayed longed - maybe next time.
Bellagio is delightful, the lake stunning - perfect holiday destination.
Michelle and Dave, Brisbane

We had a really good time we will be back next year fantastic place thank you Sally
Jack & Irina, Anglesey

Sally's apartment in Visgnola is amazing. It is very quaint and can be walked to Bellagio. Enjoy your fresh Brioche's on the balcony from the Cake Shop below the apartment. You have to meet Fabio at Il Tiglia in the same square as he will treat you very special. Ask Fabio for directions to where his friend Andrea works in Bellagio to take some amazing wine back to the Apartment. A quick stop at the small market in the plaza for some bread, cheeses and prosciutto is also recommended. Many great walking trails through the villages. We were there 9 wonderful days taking in great food, wine, sights. Thank you Sally for opening up your home to us and allowing our vacation to be so memorable. It was nice hooking up with you in Milan between trips and if you're ever in Colorado, you have a place to stay. We highly recommend Sally's apartment to who ever wants to enjoy a vacation of a life time.
Julie & Steve, Colorado

We had a fantastic holiday in Bellagio, it is the perfect place to relax and recover from a very tiring but fabulous week's hiking in Switzerland. Your apartment is immaculate, very comfortable and homely. The village has a real 'buzz' about it. The little bakery and the friendly locals added to the authentic Italian feel of the place. A perfect place to unwind and take in the breathtaking lake and mountain scenery. We would definately recommend your apartment to others and we would love to visit again.
Many thanks
one day. We never had a car but walking to and from Bellagio only took 20 minutes and it's such a pretty walk. The little patisserie next to the apartment sold the most delicious cakes and pastries anyone could wish for. I'd highly recommend Sally's apartment to everyone. Thank you Sally x
Martyn & Kirsty,

What a perfect find Sally's Bellagio apartment turned out to be. . a charming home from home with every comfort you could wish for. If you want to experience life in an Italian hamlet this is the place to be! Sitting on the balcony enjoying freshly baked pastries at breakfast time and in the evenings relaxing with a chilled glass of prosecco watching the sun set. Have a meal at the local Bellavista, no need to go back into town! Our holiday couldn't have been more perfect. We will certainly recommend it to others and hope to visit again.
Margo & Doug , Edinburgh

What a fabulous apartment - we have been travelling from week-rental to week-rental for the past couple of months, staying in some great places, but I think I can confidently say that this is head and shoulders above the rest!
We are totally thrilled to be staying here!
David & Qunyh , Australia

I have stayed at this wonderful apartment twice with my husband and two teenage daughters. It really is home from home, but with a lovely authentic italian feel to it.

Just minutes from Bellagio and the breathtaking views of the lake and mountains, but away from the touristy hotels - you really will feel as if you are the only ones on holiday!
Freshly made pastries from the little bakery across the piazza are a must for breakfast together with 'proper' coffee from Sally's coffee machine!
There are plenty of restaurants and pizzerias to choose from, so no need to cook, but the kitchen has everything you would need if you decide to eat in.
I can thoroughly recommended Sally's lovely home and will definitely be visiting again soon.

Carol Hayward, North Wales

I had a lovely stay at Sallys apartment. The village it is located in is just delightful, the local pizzeria, bar and pastry shop are all very worth visiting. And it's just a skip and a hop to Bellagio itself, and the lovely Lake Como.
Sallys apartment itself is very comfortable and I can highly recommend staying there for a relaxing visit to the area.
Justine, New Zealand

Sally's lovely 'home away from home' apartment gave us the perfect base to head out and explore this gorgrous central Lake Como region. It is set up with all the home comforts and after long days sightseeing and walking it was an idyllic base to come home to and sit and chill and watch one of the many DVD's on offer.
It really is a true slice of Italian life, sitting on the balcony and watching the locals go about their day. Great coffee and pastries from the nearby bar, restaurants within walking distance, and if you want to go further, a car is a must. We had no trouble finding a park right below the apartment everyday.
I would definitely recommend Sally's Bellissimo Bellagio Apartment, and hope I'll have the opportunity to stay there again sometime myself.
Andie, New Zealand

Bellagio is beautiful in any season with the stunning views of the lake and the mountains and for the girls some really classy shops.
The flat is ideally situated with nearby shops and a quaint bar just across the road. Breakfast on the veranda is a perfect way to start your Bellagio experience. Enjoy......we did !
Greg, Chester

Bellagio is the village where my father was born many moons ago.... I was born and brought up in London (UK) but Bellagio was our annual summer holiday location (Granny lived here.... ). Ended up making it my home back in 1979 and through a series of circumstances my path crossed with Sally's..... That's where all this began, her home in bellissimo Bellagio..... Sally's apartment is a true home from home, no fancy villa with lakeside pool (hey, those kind of places are only for the "rich and famous" and come with a price to match......) but it has all the comforts that most properties dream of and if they have them, are usually at an extra charge.... This cosy apartment is a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of Bellagio, it's where the locals live and hang out and all the local amenities have "local" prices.....
I truly wouldn't hesitate in recommending the property to anyone!!!!
Annamaria, Bellagio

Nice place, the house is very clean and cozy. It was a pity to stay just one night: we would have liked to spend more time watching movies in front of the fireplace. And Sally is the ideal host, very kind and caring! The location is perfect and easy (especially for parking) if you want to explore the lake area. Absolutely recommended.

Valeria, Milan

We have had an amazing time at Sally's place. The appartment was really clean and cosy and the information like "things to do" was great. And...the bakery at the square downstairs is amazing! Hete you will get the real italian feeling. We would highly recommend this to other people.

Bas, Netherlands

We had a fantastic stay at Sally's apartment. You have everything you need inside the apartment that you would find in your own home, extremely clean, warm, cozy and a complimentary bottle of vino of your choice. Sally also has a folder full of information about lake Como which was a huge help to us as we had very little time to prepare our trip. The small square where the house is situated has everything you need a small super market, a beautiful bakery and a bar if you fancy a beer or two Fabio the owner is such a nice guy and also gave us lots of useful tips, if you prefer staying at home you have a small balcony over looking the square with beautiful view of the mountains where we spent most of our evenings while our son slept. There are local restaurants a walking distance from the house which are good but we had a car so decided to eat in the centre of Bellagio "Trattoria San Giacomo" is a must fantastic staff, food and wine, thank you Sally for recommending this place. I can highly recommend Sally's apartment and would recommend it to friends and family who will visit Bellagio in the future.......and we will definitely be back. Valerie O'Hanlon
